What we collect

• Account info: the email address you sign in with, and sign-in timestamps.
• Voting activity: which player you voted for in each class and when.
• Player profile info submitted by the community: name, school, class, division, city/region/state, socials, film links, and photos.
• Profile claims: your name, relationship to the player, email, optional phone number, your consent choices, and the time and version of the terms you agreed to.

How we use it

We use this information to run the rankings, prevent vote manipulation, review nominations, claims, and edits, and — where you have consented — to contact you about your profile, rankings, player features, events, and Roots programs.

Who can see what

Player profiles and vote totals are public. Your email address, phone number, and claim details are never shown publicly — only Roots administrators can see them. We do not sell your personal information.

Text messages

We only text you if you provided a phone number and checked the SMS consent box. Message and data rates may apply and frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. SMS consent is never shared with third parties for their own marketing.

Players under 18

Roots Player Rankings covers high school athletes, so profiles may describe minors. Contact information for a player under 18 must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian. A player, parent, or guardian can ask us to remove a profile or contact details at any time and we will do so.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email, reply STOP to texts, request a copy or deletion of your data, or ask that a profile be removed. Contact Roots to make a request.

Storage and changes

Data is stored with our hosting and database providers and kept only as long as needed to run the rankings. We may update this policy; the version above changes when we do.
